ISRAELI APARTHEID POLICIES |
| In a Report produced by an eminent
group of international lawyers and academics, titled
‘Occupation, Colonialism, Apartheid?’ (2009), Professor
Virginia Tilley and others concluded that Israel was
guilty of Apartheid practices in the Occupied
Palestinian Territories. |

The Gaza
Strip:Under Siege |
Israel maintains control of the entry
and exit points by land, air
and sea and any Palestinian wishing to
leave Gaza requires a
permit granted by Israel. The only
crossing not in Israel’s direct
control is the Rafah crossing with
Egypt, but political pressures
from Israel and the US mean that the
closure is maintained from
that crossing too.

FACTS
ISRAEL | PALESTINE |
Instead of addressing the paradox of
Israel’s supposed commitment to human
rights and the realities of
occupation, Israel and its supporters
have employed the tactic of ‘proof by
assertion’. According to this technique,
a falsehood is repeated until it is
popularly believed to be true or “repeat
a lie often enough and it becomes the
truth”. Facts become the battle ground
and omission,
distortion and lies become Israel’s
chief weapons in its public relations
war against the Palestinians.

then, 235 settlements have been built in
the West Bank.
As recently as November 2009, Israel
approved the expansion of the Gilo

Palestinian Villages
under Threat |
Palestinians are forced to live in
Ghettos due to deliberate Israeli policies. West Bank
Ghettos exist in 78 localities and 27 enclaves with
266,442 Palestinian residents
